How do I add people to a story?

In the My Stories tab, tap the ••• on the story's cover and choose Add Contributors or Add Viewers (they read Edit once the story has some). Pick people from your Followers, from one of your Groups, or search All Users by username — so they'll need a Storynote account first. Contributors can add their own photos and videos to the story. Viewers can see it, react, and comment, but can't add photos. Either way, they get a notification that takes them to the story.

How do I invite someone who doesn't have Storynote yet?

In the My Stories tab, tap the ••• on the story's cover and choose Invite someone to this story. That opens the share sheet with a message and a link they can install Storynote from — send it however you like. The link doesn't add them to the story by itself: once they've signed up and picked a username, add them as a contributor or viewer (above) and they'll get a notification that takes them straight to the story.

Who can see my story, and how do I change it?

Every story is one of three levels, shown on the story itself:

  • Only Me — just you.
  • Private — only the contributors and viewers you've added.
  • Public — anyone on Storynote, and it can appear in Discover.

Tap the privacy control on the story to switch. A story needs at least one published note before it can be made public.

Why can't I add a video?

Video is part of the paid plans. Storynote+ supports videos up to 5 minutes and Pro up to 15 minutes. The free plan is photos only.

How much storage do I get, and what happens when I run out?

Free includes 2 GB, Storynote+ 50 GB, and Pro 150 GB. You can see your usage any time in Settings. When you're full, new uploads are blocked until you free up space (delete notes you don't need) or upgrade — nothing already in your stories is deleted or lost.

How do I save photos to my camera roll?

Open a note, tap •••, and choose Download. On Storynote+ and Pro you can also use Download all to save an entire story at once, and your files come down at full stored resolution.

Why do my photos look softer than the originals?

To keep storage reasonable, free uploads are optimized when they're added. Storynote+ keeps a much higher-resolution copy, and Pro keeps your original file untouched. This applies when a photo is uploaded, so upgrading affects new uploads rather than ones already added.

I'm not getting notifications.

Check Settings → Notifications in Storynote, then iOS Settings → Storynote → Notifications to make sure they're allowed. If you denied the prompt when you first signed up, iOS only lets you re-enable it from there.

How do I report something or block someone?

Tap ••• on any story or note — or press and hold a comment or reply — and choose Report. Once the report is sent, you'll be asked whether you also want to block that person. You can also block someone at any time from the ••• menu on their profile, or by pressing and holding one of their comments. Blocking works both ways: you stop following each other and you're removed from each other's stories and groups. Any photos and videos you added to their stories move to a private (Only Me) story of your own, and theirs in yours do the same — nobody loses their photos. Your comments, likes and reactions on each other's stories are deleted. Neither of you can see the other's profile, stories, notes, comments or reactions, find the other in search or in any list of people, or get notifications about the other. To undo it, go to Settings → Blocked accounts and tap Unblock — follows and story access aren't restored automatically, so re-add them if you want to. Reported content is reviewed, and content that's reported repeatedly is hidden automatically while we look at it. We take this seriously — please do report anything that doesn't belong.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID, so they're managed on your device: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Storynote. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep your plan until the end of the period you've paid for. If you go back to free and you're over the free storage limit, your stories stay put — you just can't upload until you're under it.

How do I delete my account?

In the app: Settings → Delete account & data. Deletion is scheduled with a 30-day window, so if you change your mind you can sign back in during that time and cancel it. After the window closes, your account and content are permanently removed.

Something else / I found a bug

Email support@storynote.com or use Settings → Help & Feedback in the app. Screenshots and the steps that led to the problem help enormously — and if the app crashed, please send the crash report when iOS offers.
